I just watched the trailer for the upcoming movie, Moon. It looks great! I love psychological trailers. That it’s sf based is so like like that cliché: adding the cherry to a sundae. :D

Here is the synopsis via imdb:

Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) is nearing the end of his contract with Lunar. He’s been a faithful employee for 3 long years. His home has been Selene, a moon base where he has spent his days alone, mining Helium 3. The precious gas holds the key to reversing the Earth’s energy crisis.

Isolated, determined and steadfast, Sam has followed the rulebook obediently and his time on the moon has been enlightening, but uneventful. The solitude has given him time to reflect on the mistakes of his past and work on his raging temper. He does his job mechanically, and spends most of his available time dreaming of his imminent return to Earth, to his wife, young daughter and an early retirement.

But 2 weeks shy of his departure from Selene, Sam starts seeing things, hearing things and feeling strange. And when a routine extraction goes horribly wrong, he discovers that Lunar have their own plans for replacing him and the new recruit is eerily familiar.

Before he can return to Earth, Sam has to confront himself and the discovery that the life he has created, may not be his own. It’s more than his contract that is set to expire.

And on to the trailer:

Awe! These little guys are so cute! I saw them featured in a post (Tweenbots: Help a Lost Robot Find Its Way) on geekdad. Naturally I had to share.

Tweenbots are human-dependent robots that navigate the city with the help of pedestrians they encounter. Rolling at a constant speed, in a straight line, Tweenbots have a destination displayed on a flag, and rely on people they meet to read this flag and to aim them in the right direction to reach their goal.

It’s an interesting concept. Now, of course, I want to find one of these little guys to help out. I also found this blip from the article interesting too:

People in New York are often in a hurry to get from one place to another, but this little robot seemed to pull them out of their personal missions to bring a human aspect to their walking commutes.

Human? People tend to get into a zone on their commute and rarely notice people around them or anything that’s considered “in the norm” for that matter. I’ve fallen in the subway before and not one person even asked me if I was okay. So, I don’t believe “human aspect” is correct there. The robots are cute and out of the ordinary. And that is what I believe draws attention to them.

What do you think? And would you help the little bot on its way?

I’ll leave you with this. It’s a video of a tweenbot in action. :)

I’m starting the slow process of moving my old website over to WordPress. I say slow because I’m still figuring it all out. So, yes, there will be glitches happening on this site while I work through the learning phase. :P

And, this is step one since I’ll end up having two websites when it’s all said and done. Greybon will be my regular site, much like what I have on Hodgepodge, while the other (info t/c on what that url is, etc.) will be strictly new age like what’s on Xyeido. I’m going to be adding in old posts by hand so I can weed out ones with dead videos, etc. Not sure how much new posting will happen while I do that.  Stay tuned… :)

Well, we all know how much I love all things Dresden. :) And I just saw this promo and so I share. I recently listened to the audio version of Small Favor and I have to say, James Marsters seriously kicks ass on these readings!

So, head on over to enter here.
