I realized it’s been a while since I posted a Ruki pic. So of course I have to fix that! :P She’s been zonked out in the window all afternoon:
And when I got closer, she looked up and her disheveled, sleepy-eyed, “why are you bothering me now” expression is too cute. :P

She was really focused on something out that window.
Ruki spent some time today sitting in that window meowing at the snow. I’m not all that sure what that was about. I also don’t get why she loves this window so much. It’s lower than the others so that may be it. But this is her view:
How much can she really see? Perhaps she finds safety in the fire escape keeping her hidden? Not sure. Another window might give her more to see, like this:
I do like those mangled lookin’ trees. That view is from the kitchen so now that I think about it, Ruki wouldn’t be hanging out in that window anyway. Oh well.
She also had some scary moments, running away from the sound of snow plows. All that excitment! Oof. Poor thing is wiped out:
Ruki is pretty much stoned out of her gourd here (Oh, dear me — I just used another dreadful cliché. :P). Yep. Catnip heaven. She stayed in that position for a long time too. Silly cat. Needless to say, she’s enjoying her evening. :P
Oh, and on a totally different note, I’ll add this one too:
That’s how she spent her Sunday afternoon. She crawled in and zonked out. Normally she only sits in there for a few minutes. Go figure. (Oh and ignore all the stuff behind her that I never got around to hanging up/putting away. I know, I know, months in the new place now and still no pics on the wall. I’m basking in the beauty of slooowww :P)
Oh, hey, Ruki just headbutted my leg. She must know I’m posting pics of her. Ut oh.
I got a new humidifier (yes, a frog! :P) and I set it up on a footstool to make sure it didn’t leak. Ruki was fascinated by it. She sat like this for a really long time. I kept imagining that she was explaining the rules of her household to it. “The window is mine…that box behind you is mine…the pillow…mine too…well actually, it’s all mine…”
Eventually, her attention was called away to the important matter of claiming the new empty box.
Eep! The flash made her eyes all freaky looking. :P
A new Simon’s Cat is up! I only noticed today. I’m slow. :P
Simon’s Cat ‘Snow Business’ (Part 1)
A curious cat discovers snow for the first time.
The war against the bed has resumed. I still don’t know what the bed did to warrant such attacks but I’m certain whatever it was, it was dastardly!
Here’s how it starts, she wraps her arms around the side, then slips into crazy kick mode.
This goes on until the bed gets the upper hand by flipping over her (the nerve!), causing her to dart away toward safety. Then she glares and readies to stalk and attack again.
I’m so bad at getting pics of her doing this though. I’ve only been able to capture the first part of it. As soon as she sees the camera she stops and stares at me. Then she acts like nothing was going on and slips into her “I’m the most bored creature ever” pose. Apparantly my cat is about as photogenic as I am. Go figure. :P
Ruki had to have her yearly checkup at the vet this weekend. When we got home she fled to safety under the bed. The only thing is that when she “hides” her feet are usually sticking out. In this case, she felt the need to hold onto her toy but didn’t pull it under the bed with her. She must be of the mindset that if she can’t see you, she’s hidden. :P
I can’t get enough of this clip. It’s too freaking cute! :)
Aah, Ruki. My crazy little cat. She has this thing about attacking her bed.
“It’s evil and must die!”
But of course it is, dear Ruki.
Today, she started gnawing on it like usual. Then she flipped it over, flopped on her back, and rolled side to side. By the time I got the camera out, all I was able to capture was her mid-roll. The flash caught her eyes so it looks like she has her super powers activated. Must be how she was able to defeat the bed so quickly. :P
And here she is sitting all proper as if the attack never happened–I’m just not supposed to notice that the bed is upside down I guess. :D
