I have become obsessed with this song this evening. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve listened to it on repeat. :P
These guys are amazing! I keep wanting to fix their bows but I think their style is to have that piece flipping around. Seems to fit well with their high energy. :)
Oh, happy find! Awesome music I can listen to when I write. Huzzah!
I listen to a lot of soundtracks while writing—Inception & BSG just to name a few. I also listen to a lot of cello music—Zoe Keating and Julia Kent mostly. So when Zoe sent out an email this morning, letting us know that a soundtrack was just released and that she had solos on it? Well duh, I had to check it out!
The soundtrack is from the movie, The Conspirator. And here’s what Zoe had to say about it:
Mark Isham’s score for The Conspirator is out and it features quite a lot of me. These cello parts were the very last thing I recorded before giving birth last year…literally 12 hours after I recorded the final touches, I went into labor. The film is by Robert Redford, and is about the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. I recommend it, and the score, which you can get on Bandcamp (!). Here it is: http://store.isham.com
I’ve been listening to it off that site all day. It’s awesome! I think this might be the first time I’ve fallen in love with a score before seeing the movie. :P
That’s that. I must go download it now. I leave you with an awesome interview with Zoe:
Have a happy day! :)
I have no idea why this video is so addictive. It’s been a while since I watched it. But today felt like a good day to watch it again (and again – heh):
Strangely enough, the two with painted faces always make me think of manga characters. :P

Eh, I wrote Sunday in that title first. Since I was home sick yesterday, I’d forgotten what day it is. Luckily I caught that before this went live, eh? :P
Still groggy and bleh, but Ruki would not let me sleep. Kitten had an empty belly, you know how that goes.
Anyway, I’m in the mood for some cello music (I know, I always seem to be in that mood), and thought I’d share some. I’ll be listening to Zoe Keating and Julia Kent today as I plunge forward into my reread of The Name of the Wind. Huzzah!
And now I’m off to read. Enjoy the rest of your day! :)
A little music for your Sunday morning. It’s adorable. :)
Arcade Fire just released their video for “The Suburbs“:
Video is by Spike Jonze. Enjoy! :)

A little music for your Saturday morning:
Enjoy! :)
Pretty awesome performance:
The track is “Time” from the Inception soundtrack.
Hans Zimmer (piano) and Johnny Marr (guitar).
Full performance can be seen here:
The video took a while to load so heads it that it might do so for you too. The performance starts at about 8 or so minutes in (after the red carpet event). It’s well worth the wait. Awesome indeed! And the soundtrack itself is pretty amazing. I, of course, had to download it today and have been listening to it on repeat. :D (Kinda made things interesting when I was trying to write a scene with a bored character and I’m hearing all these intense sounds that so don’t fit with that scene. Made me want to make the character get up and do something a bit more kick ass. Hah!)
The soft visual elements in this video are somewhat hypnotic and soothing. I love all the paper airplanes and the watercolor background:
