I got a new toy for Ruki this week. It’s a fishing rod with an Angry Bird dangling from it. Here it is just sitting innocently next to me:
But Ruki’s on to it and knows it’s trouble. She stares intently at it, watching its every move. And then a feather flitters and she activates Flurry Attack Mode!
Take that Angry Bird! Huzzah! :P
Ruki and I are both moving slowly this morning. Well, okay, maybe Ruki is moving a whole lot slower than I am:
She’s had such the exhausting morning, of course. There was some eating, and some laying in the sun, and a few short naps too. Oof…so tiring just thinking about it. Heh. :P

Oh, Ruki. She makes it seem like a few inches more is way too much effort.
Today’s lunchtime wanderings took me to I Heart Plastic and Kid Robot. I Heart Plastic’s website is down, but I linked to it there anyway. I acquired some new goodies for my desk:
Aren’t they cute? What’s awesome is that I got the mystery version on two of them. For those who aren’t familiar with these plastic figures, which one you get is a surprise. They list all the ones you might get on the side of the box, except one always has a question mark in its spot. I got two question mark figures. The jumping brain has a clear side filled with glitter. Must be where the magic stuff resides. :P And the other is from the Speaker Family. It’s the green guy with no neck. As for the other pieces, the little guy in the middle is a brief zipper pull. And the two wooden figures behind him are Ottis and Otto, and looking at that Stolle’s Neighborhood site, I’m definitely gonna need more of those! But I think my favorite may be the wooden Jibibut on the end. Yay! I can’t wait to set them up on my desk next week. :)
And since you can see Ruki’s ears over the top of the figures, here is what she’s doing this evening. Lounging on my coffee table. It’s a favorite spot for her. Occasionally she peeks up over my laptop to see what I’m up to or to try to steal a pen or my dinner.

Ruki is so tired today from all the napping she’s done. What a hard life she leads. :P
A battle raged on when one kitten discovered one evil chair!
Ruki just wanted to sleep. Would Evil Uncomfy Chair let her? Of course not! It decided to be extra uncomfy out of spite. The nerve! (Though, really, look at it, does it look comfy to you? No, right? Kitten has some odd ideas of comfort.)
Kitten fought back. She rolled back and forth. Flopped onto her belly, then over again onto her back. She rolled so hard, Chair slide across the floor:
Nothing would get Chair to ease up though. So she started her Wild Rabbit Foot Attack and kicked with all her might:
But Chair would not give in and Kitten tired out. Finally, she had to admit defeat, poor thing. She just stuck her legs out into the air and gave up:
Awe, poor Ruki. Kitten is so unhappy. I suspect this victory will be short lived. Indeed.

I’m not really sure what the appeal of the coffee table is. Doesn’t look all that comfy to me, but Ruki sure seems to like it:

Ruki! Lately she has been stealing every pen I’ve got. I have no idea where she takes them either! Sheesh. :P
On another note, my old theme glitched out and stopped letting me write posts. And my sinuses are still keeping way too blurry-eyed to bother with trying to find the problem in the code right now. So, I’ve tossed another theme up for the time being. Things may look strange around here until I dissect the problem. Maybe I’ll just be lazy and keep the new theme.
Guess I should go get my pen back now before it disappears for good. Sounds like it’s being dragged across the floor somewhere around a corner. Maybe if I stalk her I can find the rest of my pens! Well see… :D
Ruki looks like she’s grinning in her sleep. Of course she’s all smiles after the morning she’s had. Attacked my ipod earphones, attacked my laptop cable, skidded out across the floor and crashed into me, all sorts of chaos. She was in some sort of psycho kitten mode this morning. Crazy cat! And now she looks all cute and cuddly. Awe…. :P
I wonder what she’s dreaming about. Any guesses?
Er…not sure if plopping on that mat like that counts, but close enough. I walked away from the mat for just a moment and this is what happened. Aah, Ruki, she certainly loves to claim everything as her own. :P
